Fit Guide

Fit, made simple

Great fit shouldn’t feel like a puzzle. HUMANCHIC pieces are designed to look polished, move easily, and stay comfortable in real life—work, weekends, and travel.

Before you buy, do two quick things:

1.        Check the Fit type (Classic, Tailored, Relaxed, Athletic)

2.       Compare your measurements to the garment chart

Because we’re made-to-order, choosing the right fit upfront saves time and avoids returns.

1) Choose your fit type

Classic Fit (Default)

Best for: everyday wear, most body types, easy layering
Feel: balanced—neither tight nor oversized
If you’re between sizes: choose the size that matches your chest/bust measurement.

Tailored Fit

Best for: sharper look, clean lines, office-to-after
Feel: closer through the torso, more structured silhouette
If you’re between sizes: size up for comfort, especially if you prefer breathing room at the waist/hips.

Relaxed Fit

Best for: off-duty, travel, campus, easy movement
Feel: more room through the body, effortless drape
If you want a cleaner look: choose your true size.
If you like a roomier vibe: size up.

Athletic Fit

Best for: broader shoulders, fuller chest, more room where it matters
Feel: accommodates upper body or thighs without looking boxy
If you’re between sizes: choose based on your largest measurement (chest/hips).

2) How to measure (takes 60 seconds)

Use a flexible measuring tape. Keep it snug, not tight.

Chest/Bust: around the fullest part
Waist: around your natural waist
Hips: around the fullest part of your hips/seat
Shoulder: shoulder tip to shoulder tip
Sleeve: shoulder seam to wrist
Inseam (if applicable): crotch seam to hem

Pro tip: measure a favorite item you already own and compare it to our garment measurements. That’s the fastest way to get it right.

3) What matters most by item

T-Shirts

Focus on: chest/bust + length

·         Prefer a cleaner look? Choose Classic.

·         Want more ease? Choose Relaxed.

Polos

Focus on: chest/bust + shoulders
Polos should sit neatly at the shoulder. If it pulls at the chest, size up.

Hoodies

Focus on: chest/bust + sleeve length
If you plan to layer, go Classic or size up once.

Jackets

Focus on: chest/bust + shoulders + sleeve
Jackets need shoulder comfort. If shoulders feel tight, size up.

Skirts (Women)

Focus on: waist + hips
If your waist and hips fall into different sizes, choose based on hips for comfort and movement.

Tote Bags / Clutches & Small Bags

Fit isn’t the issue—function is. Check the dimensions and what it holds (laptop, tablet, daily essentials).

4) Between sizes? Use this rule

·         If you want closer, sharper: choose the smaller size (Tailored).

·         If you want more comfort or layering: choose the larger size (Classic/Relaxed).

·         If one measurement is clearly larger (chest/hips): choose the size that fits your largest measurement.

5) Made-to-order note (important)

Each piece is produced when you order it. That reduces waste and keeps our catalog lean.
It also means sizing carefully is the best way to ensure a smooth experience.
